M. Todd Byars, a licensed Certified Public Accountant, has spent the last twenty years in the financial services industry.  After receiving a Bachelors Degree in Accounting and a Masters Degree in Taxation from Georgia State University, Todd spent seven years with the international accounting firm Deloitte & Touche, LLP.  While at Deloitte, Todd served many medium to large public and private companies including Holiday Inn Worldwide, United Parcel Service, The Equitable Companies, and Cox Enterprises.  Todd also worked with local venture capital firms in developing and monitoring complicated partnership profit allocation models and ensuring correct reporting to partners and prospective partners. 

Having been raised in a family of entrepreneurs, Todd’s goal was to ultimately own his own accounting and consulting practice. In 1997 Todd left Deloitte and along with his wife Lisa founded Crabapple Financial Services, Inc., an accounting and consulting firm designed to serve small to medium sized businesses, and individuals with tax, accounting and financial planning needs.  Todd is a licensed CPA in the state of Georgia, is a member of The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, The Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants, and Rotary International.   

Since 1997, Crabapple Financial Services, Inc. (CFS) has successfully grown simply through client referrals.  Over the years we have strived to make tax planning and compliance process less burdensome on our clients.  Our mission is to consistently provide accounting, consulting, and tax planning and compliance services in a manner that exceeds our client’s expectations.     

After many years serving the small business sector, Todd and Lisa realized a growing need to help their clients find cost effective and appropriate insurance. Credence Insurance Agency, Inc. was formed to meet the needs of our clients and to help insure that they are not taken advantaged of, oversold, under protected, or mistreated in the process of obtaining insurance. It is our goal to take this philosophy beyond our client base, to the community we serve.
